Floyds one of the Crew at HD Cycles and has been
given the nickname of Floyd because
of the majority of his
tattoos being based on the Pink Floyd theme, The Wall.
Floyd should be happy with that for a nickname...
it suits him.
Floyd's a regular customer of Nadine @ Skinks, Hamilton, (NZ) and
'The Wall' has taken approximately eighteen months to complete.
Nadine has worked on Floyd's front, back and shoulders which also
includes some beautiful portrait and Celtic work.
Floyd got his first tattoo on his forearm (a cross) by Merv
O'Connor in Auckland and some of his earlier tattoos were done by
George Bones in London, UK. He's been getting inked (tattooed) for
the last 35 years. Floyd might be running out of skin soon?
Floyd entered a local tattoo competition
held in Hamilton a couple years back and to his surprise he took
away a few spots in different categories, making it to the finals
with Best Celtic, Best Portrait, and Best Back. More recently
he entered the Red Gables Tattoo Show and won Best Front and Best
Back with a second place for Celtic.
Floyd/s more
than an avid fan of Pink Floyd, the 70's rocked at Floyds
and so did their music. Floyd's been to many of their
concerts including in the UK. To have had the tattoo
completed for the up coming Pink Floyd Concert in January
2007 is only part of sharing the passion with his boys when
he took them
to see the legendary band Pink Floyd. Floyd's boys couldn't
have got any closer at the concert as they made it to the
front and said they wish they'd had a camera.
Floyd's been
attending a few events and spotted out with the Kiwi Harley
Babe (Brigit) from time to time as they've been good mates for approximately
27 years. Brigit got her first tattoo
(butterfly) while hanging out with Floyd back in the
old days
when those Pink Floyd parties and bikes roared down the same
street they all lived in.
New photos of Floyd's tattoos
will be posted up shortly. These will show much more detail of Nadine's work.
This photo was taken in 2005 while the back job for 'The
Wall' was in progress.
