Taupo
Track's a popular and busy track since it was built and
MotoTT was formed with the aim to provide a track day
for the different skills of riding. The invitiation to a MotoTT
Track Day is a perfect opportunity to check out what this is
all about. With perfect riding conditions and riders
briefing the day kicked off with the Marshals in place with
the new headphones. Boyd Motorcycles of Hamilton supplied
the bikes for the Linesman.
The riders range from learning to ride in safe
guided laps with the Linesman to the most experienced riders
who can open out and test those new bikes and motors for the
up and coming race season. Yeah right, like I was the blonde one
when I saw those tyre warmers around the pits!!! That's some
serious Japper horse power with matching helmets and
leathers to be out for a stroll with the linesman in the
slow lane!!

A1 Formula
Surprise
Out of
the blue this Formula Challenge race
car 10 appears and this is the very
first time I've ever seen or captured
any photos of these four wheels cars. I wasn't sure
where he was going, or that these cars
were booked for a track day on the
other half of the circuit. I got a
bigger surprise later in the day while working the back straight.

I worked
cruising around the outside of the MotoTT track and I stopped to
change a flash card. When I looked up all I saw was three formula
cars coming towards me with motorcycles riding on my left and
formula cars whizzing pass on my right side into a small hairpin.
I
couldn't help myself to say the least and it's not uncommon to see
the two circuits being used. Makes for interesting photos as I've
found out at when attending a classic bike event which also had a
car club day running in the background.
