NZ.B.A.D.D is an official

and do count. Get Attitude and make a difference.
The second annual
Memorial Run on the 24th August 2008 began at Bayride Motorcycles, 337
Cameron Road, Tauranga, then onto the Okororie Hotel with the final
destination to arrive at the Hamilton City Gardens. 34 of the 200 riders
for this memorial run braved the weather conditions and paid their
respects. This was not expected and overall an excellent ride.
The venue was highlighted
with various special guests and live entertainment - Joel Shadbolt, Andrew
Stroud (NZ Superbike Champion) the Andy Scrivener and Steve Bryan
combination with the Lawrance Brothers Richard and Chris Lawrance
President of the New Zealand Sidecar Racing Assoc.
The trailer with the
'smashed up bikes' are for public viewing and part of the cause for the
purposes of Education, Research and Support. Together with other
organisations such as Alcohol & Drug Treatment Specialists for targeted
recidivist drink driving programs, with two District Health Boards taking
a new approach to treatment in conjunction with this story and the tragic
loss of these three motorcyclists.
And, with Crossroads NZBADD has helped
push into a review of the Land Transport Act - Section 65 - with a review
in particular into Ignition Interlocking devices. Promoting the awareness
of the consequences of drinking and then driving is a harsh reality.
Don't be an Idiot and drink and
drive...it's not worth it!
