National
Series Competition 2007
Matata North Island Enduro Race - July 14th 2007 :
This
Offroad National series event held at Matata was an
opportunity for Brigit to work on a very large
course. Despite she should've been at home in bed
recuperating nothing could keep her from covering
the Quad bikes or Tony McCall in action. Anything
can happen on the day as they say and after two
races Brigit watches Tony's Offroader go over the
rise and never reappear back over the largest jump.
He'd blown his diff in his Class 1 Cougar 07 and
didn't get to compete in the endurance race won by
Neville Smith in car 188.
The
day was hard going and to make it even harder, an
extra new 4.GB memory card Brigit had bought was
working. Another photographer from Whakatane checked
it out in his camera and it was definitely a no go.
A Dud memory card and ripped off. Well Tony McCall
wasn't the only one spitting the dummy in the pits
because by the sounds they were speaking the same
language. She took some time out off the course
knowing she didn't have much time because she wasn't
going to miss the final quad bike endurance race.
She sifted through 4.GB of photos she'd already
taken and flagged lunch.
Brigit
got up in the bush, climbing up and down the hills
to find those spots she could capture the main race
until she ran out of memory in her camera. About 4
pm an exhausted Brigit walks out and it's time to
get the girl home before she drops. This photo
collection is still a very good one and for
endurance points, well done girl.
Many Thanks to Bruce Tronell of Motorsport Trust for
Life.
Brigit didn't attend the Nationals in Nelson but is
seriously considering the Taupo 1000 Race.
