Tauranga Racecourse  3rd - 6th February 2007

The Tauranga Custom Motorcycle Show was held at the Racecourse on Cameron Road. You can check out the official website and history for the Tauranga Motorcycle Show with this years winning entries and results.

She was one of two photographers for this event and although she was challenged with the dim lighting situation, Brigit produced some nice shots of the show bikes in this awesome bush theme.  The bark, native ferns, shrubs, grasses and cascading walls of water flowing over metal with soft coloured lighting made this atmosphere feel like you'd just walked into a Kiwi House or the bush just on dusk.

Harley History in New Zealand is something Brigit loves to find and she got a little bit of a surprise to see two 1920's Harleys. At first  glance she thought she'd once photographed these two old Harleys (1918 HeadVTwin F18 and a 1929 Peashooter Model S) in a showcase at Te Papa (Wellington) for the Harley-Davidson 100th Anniversary Expo 2003 until she compared the photos and realised these were four very different early models of Harley-Davidson motorcycles. No doubt, she'll be checking those bikes for some history on them.

Brigit's made two music clips for the Tauranga Motorcycle show which includes her exclusives of the winning custom motorcycle known as 'Rolling Thunder'. For the owner (C-Tin) and everyone at H.D.Cycles, including Brigit who had front rows seats to capture the winning bikes and owners receiving their prizes were stunned when 'Rolling Thunder' got both Top American motorcycle and Top Prize for Best Bike of the Show.

Brigit's best photo for the day was also a winner and this was printed into a poster by Big Posters of Hamilton for the owner of Rolling Thunder. Brigit attributes this to her camera being fine tuned by the other photographer (Mike) after prize giving where Brigit captured some of her best shots of the show bikes when they were brought outside after the show was finished. This was the first photo Brigit took with the new settings, was of two late model Harleys.

Many thanks to the hosts for allowing Brigit to photograph the show and sharing her photos with everyone in the site's gallery.

If you would like to obtain a copy from the originals posted in the gallery, feel free to contact for further information stating the album and photo title(s) in the gallery for this event.
