Repco Rally New Zealand celebrates it's fortieth year and as part of the FIA World Rally Championship for 2008 this was an extra special year for New Zealand. Amidst the excitement, the thrill of competition and gravel rock mania, a hint of sadness loomed in the shadows amongst those who won't be seeing this event next year. That's how the cookie crumbles and who knows what the future will hold in two years so in the meantime this photo collection is all about the "Essence of WRC Rally New Zealand".

How did the first leg go Mr Solberg?....as you can see Brigit I've lost the bumper somewhere along the road and then developed steering problems......no, I'm not having a very good day and hopefully I can make up the lost time in the next stages. What do you reckon, any suggestions?

"Um.....good weather conditions for more of those Solberg Shotgun slides but keep it tighter in the corners with Pedal to the Metal....and if all else fails, just drive it like you stole it?

Who knows you might even get the fastest lap time?
